-Alright, alright, alright.
Thank you very much.
-Austin City Limits, Austin, Texas, let's go!
-From the live music capital of the world, it's "Austin City Limits."
-Introducing singer, songwriter, guitarist Ty Myers.
[ Cheers and applause ] -I'm from Dripping Springs, Texas.
It's about 40 minutes outside of Austin to the west.
There's something about Austin that's just kind of special.
There's a really cool culture that is formed on just the love of music in its entire purity.
Along with that, I grew up in a very musical household.
"Austin City Limits" was always on in our house, and I was watching all of these old videos of Willie and Kristofferson and Haggard and John Mayer and Norah Jones.
It built a really cool, um, image in my head of what music should be and what music can be.
I couldn't imagine a better childhood just because I loved making music, and I loved the idea and the life of a musician.
I remember I was probably 7 or 8, and I started to listen to a lot of Kris Kristofferson and really breaking down the lyrics and listening.
-♪ Loving her was easier than anything I'll ever do ♪ -I realized that he was writing about things that were already written and writing them in a whole different way and turning it on its head.
And I found that at a very, very young age.
The pinnacle of the Austin music scene to us was "Austin City Limits," and getting the invitation, it was -- it was really amazing.
And hugged my parents, and we all just kind of sat down and took a deep breath and realized how lucky we are.
So it was -- it was really an amazing moment.
My whole kind of goal for the performance was to keep the traditional "ACL" feel -- the stage design, the set, the big sound, and a big feel and for the music to be in your face and really show my inspiration from country to soul to blues to Southern rock.
And I just hope everybody loves it as much as I do.
