Our next topic is Mr. Mousavi. The last person I expected to face criticism is Mousavi. I know him extremely well. I know him more closely and longer than all the people who praise or criticize him.

After all, you were Prime Minister for eight years. How many times did you visit the religious marjaas?

I know him extremely well.

I know that the [Mousavi] administration is honest. They may have modest means, but they have spiritual strength.

[Ahmadinejad]

Mr. Mousavi, you were Prime Minister for eight years. Only one critical newspaper existed under your tenure, and that wasn't launched until 1985. Just one paper, which published one or two critiques about your economic performance. I have the statistics right here, and will get to that soon.

Do you remember your period in office? In violation of the constitution, you took the minimum authority vested in the president from him. You had to get your cabinet nominees approved by the president. Because you had a difference of opinion, you brought Imam [Khomeini] into the fray.

[Khamenei]

The officials in the Mousavi administration all work with tremendous efforts to serve [the country]. Undoubtedly, when there is such effort and honesty, God's grace is not amiss. I hope that God's guidance will help us overcome our problems.

[Ahmadinejad]

Because you had a difference of opinion, you brought Imam [Khomeini] into the fray.
