Continuing Education provides unique pathways to and through higher education, inspiring a love of learning through innovative educational experience for all ages and people.
Here with an overview about the program is Director Elisabeth Nebeker, hi Elisabeth.
- Hi Laura, thanks for having me.
- Yeah, so you're new in this job, but you're diving right into like, how many tours are you doing?
- Yeah, so Go Learn!
is actually a program that's been around for 12 years.
- Yeah.
- So we do basically take lifelong learners around the world.
We do 13 to 15 trips a year.
- [Laura] Wow.
- Yes.
- So some of the, where are some of the places you've been recently?
- Oh, so I actually, as you mentioned, I just joined in January, so I was able to experience our Historic England, which is basically a look of history and theater with theater professor Tim Slover and Jane England, who I know have been guests before.
And we just got back from a partnership with PBS Utah, from trips from actually Yorkshire and Cornwall in the last two months.
And then we have Iceland coming up here shortly.
So, you know, we continue to take these university faculty and experts as our trip leaders and bring 10 to 20 folks along the way, so that they can experience and learn - Wow.
- Different things in different places.
- So, what kind of people are attracted to these tours?
If you were to go on, if I were to go on this tour that you have coming up, what kind of people would I expect to be in with in my group?
- Yeah, they are curious.
These are folks that are looking for, you know, a way to see and learn in a different way.
I mean, we have many choices for travel.
We certainly can book and find as much information online ourselves, but to be able to come with Go Learn!
when you have a curated experience through the lens of a university expert is what we really offer to our community.
And you would love the people.
- Yeah, what a great experience and unique opportunity.
Thank you for being here.
- Thanks, Laura.
