Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorshipWe are at Amnicon Falls and we will be performing a Midsummer Night's Dream for our traveling Shakespeare in the State Park Troupe.
It is now in its 10th season and we cover as many state parks throughout Wisconsin that we can and just bring in free Shakespeare to everybody.
So this year we're at 17 different state parks.
Shakespeare's words are meant to be heard, not read.
And being outside in the park takes you back to where the shows originally would have been performed, which is outside at the Globe Theater.
You would be outdoors.
There would be no roof over your head.
You'd have all the elements.
When we tour, we have eight people.
We have our six actors.
That is our main cast.
And we also have our production manager who runs everything that's behind the banner, all of our quick changes and set changes and all that fun stuff.
And then we also have a tour manager who drives a van, and I think there's something so special about having people who are usually a little hesitant to join and then hesitant to learn about Shakespeare or watch Shakespeare finish the show and say like, Oh, I actually got it this time.
So for me, that's my favorite part about doing this is seeing other people enjoy it as much as we do.
