Communications Manager Megs Vincent is here to talk about upcoming performances this season.
Hi Megs, thanks so much for being here.
- Thank you.
- You've got a really exciting season coming up.
- Yes You already kicked off with the Black Panther but you've got more.
- Oh yes.
We have some really exciting headliners happening including Beethoven's Ninth Symphony which features the famous Ode to Joy chorus which would be very exciting.
We're also doing Rachmaninoff number two and for opera we'll have the Little Prince which is an audience favorite, highly requested.
We're so excited to be bringing it back and coming up just this next week we have Beethoven's Emperor Piano Concerto.
- Ah.
Which is a beautiful one.
Okay, say a little more about that one.
- Yes.
So this piece is stunning, gorgeous.
And at the very exciting is we have Finishing Touches for this performance.
So that is an opportunity for audience members to come to Abravnel Hall Friday morning, around 9:00 AM, they get a little bit of brunch bites, some snacks and then they're able to join the final dress rehearsal.
So it's this really cool, intimate up close contact with the musicians with this piece.
They kind of see how the conductor works through some of those final rehearsals before the final performance that evening.
- It's such a great idea.
And you're doing them for some more of them as well?
- Yes.
We have a handful of performances available.
If you go onto our website usuo.org, you can find them.
They say "Finishing Touches" at the top.
- Great.
And what are some of the other operas coming up?
- Yes, so we have Little Prince which as I said, is an audience favorite.
We're so excited to bring that one back.
We are also doing Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro.
A few years ago we did the Barber of Seville and this is kind of the sequel to that.
It's very fun, very lighthearted.
Family will enjoy it.
So bring the kids.
It's a good comedic opera.
- Great.
I'm so glad you were here and thank you so much for coming.
- Thank you.
